For fiscal 2026-27, Canada's CanExport SMEs program has about $31M for international market activities (roughly $3.1M earmarked for US-focused projects), still reimbursing 50% of eligible export costs up to $50,000 per market. New rules require applicants to target either the US OR other international markets (not both), raise eligibility to 3 full-time employees and $300,000 annual revenue, lift the travel per diem to $600, and aim for decisions within 60 business days (90 for US projects).
CanExport SMEs revamped for 2026-27: US or global focus, higher bar
A Canadian founder planning to expand abroad should re-check they now meet the 3-FTE and $300K revenue threshold and pick one lane (US or rest-of-world) before applying, since agriculture and agri-food projects moved to the separate AgriMarketing program.
