Proptech raises $8.7B in 2026 as four of five biggest deals land outside the US

Global real estate tech startups raised about $8.7B across 794 deals through August 2026, down from $12.3B in all of 2025. Four of the five largest 2026 deals were outside the US, including Stegra ($1.6B) and Hydnum Steel ($695M) in green steel, Mews ($300M), and Canada's Nesto ($216M); the only US top-five deal was Bedrock Robotics ($270M).

Why this matters for founders

Proptech founders should lead pitches with demonstrable ROI in construction, building operations, underwriting, and transaction infrastructure, since investors are funding cost- and time-savings over hype.
