From 2 August 2026 the EU AI Act's transparency obligations (Article 50) are enforced and apply directly in Sweden: businesses must tell users when they are interacting with a chatbot rather than a human, and AI-generated or manipulated content (including deepfakes) must be clearly labelled and carry machine-readable marks. The obligations apply to all in-scope systems regardless of when they launched, with fines up to EUR 15 million or 3% of worldwide annual turnover.
