IRS expands Business Tax Account: digital notices, payments and account access online

On Aug 6, 2026 the IRS announced new and expanded features for its Business Tax Account (BTA), letting eligible businesses view digital notices, make payments, and access and manage federal tax account information online. The rollout is part of the IRS's push to move more business tax interactions to self-service digital channels.

Why this matters for founders

Set up your company's IRS Business Tax Account so a founder or finance lead can pull balances, view notices and pay federal taxes online instead of waiting on paper mail.
