Missouri enacts Angel Investor Tax Credit: 40% (50% rural) on startup investments

Gov. Mike Kehoe signed Missouri's Angel Investor Tax Credit into law on July 13, 2026. For tax years starting Jan 1, 2027, investors earn a credit worth 40% of a qualified investment (50% in rural counties), capped at $75,000 per business and $300,000 total per investor per year, under a statewide $6M annual cap for 2027–2028.

Why this matters for founders

Missouri founders raising early capital can now dangle a state tax credit in front of local angels—line up qualified investors before the $6M annual pool opens for 2027.
