Positron AI raises $875M for memory-first AI inference chips

Positron AI announced $875 million on September 10, 2026, split into a $375 million Series C and a Series C-1 of up to $500 million, at a roughly $5 billion valuation. The round, backed by NEA, Atreides and Valor, funds its memory-first inference processors aimed at cheaper AI serving than GPUs.

Why this matters for founders

AI-product founders should track inference-chip challengers like Positron; more competition to Nvidia points to falling per-token serving costs over the next few years.
