Ottawa commits $13.85M to 63 Quebec AI projects under Regional AI Initiative

On July 15, 2026, Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) announced $13,852,374 through the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative (RAII) for 63 Quebec organizations. The funding backs projects that either develop and market AI solutions or integrate AI into SMEs' operations, and is expected to consolidate over 1,700 jobs. The RAII runs through March 31, 2031.

Why this matters for founders

Quebec-based founders building or adopting AI can apply to the RAII via CED's financing and services page to co-fund development or integration projects. Getting into an early cohort positions your startup alongside 63 already-funded peers and toward the program's 2031 horizon.
