SEBI waives first-scheme filing fee, cuts AIF launch timeline to 10 working days

SEBI notified the AIF (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2026 on 14 July 2026, exempting an Alternative Investment Fund's first scheme from scheme filing fees and cutting the advance placement-memorandum filing requirement from 30 days to 10 working days before launch. The changes took effect on the notification date, 14 July 2026.

Why this matters for founders

Founders raising pre-seed and seed capital from first-time and micro-VC fund managers benefit indirectly: cheaper, faster fund launches mean more emerging funds can deploy capital sooner, so keep new AIF/micro-VC managers on your fundraising pipeline.
