Singapore adds S$1B to Startup SG Equity, now covering growth-stage deep tech

EnterpriseSG confirmed a S$1 billion top-up to the Startup SG Equity (SSGE) co-investment scheme, announced at Budget 2026 and the MTI Committee of Supply 2026. For the first time since the scheme launched in 2017, SSGE will fund not only early-stage but also growth-stage Singapore-based deep tech startups, directly targeting the local 'Series B cliff' in growth capital.

Why this matters for founders

Deep tech founders raising beyond seed/Series A should structure rounds to bring in an SSGE-approved co-investment partner, since the government will now match private capital at the growth stage; prepare cap table and paid-up capital records early.
