Sydney fintech Pearler raises $16M Series A led by Portage

Sydney investing platform Pearler closed a $16 million Series A on 3 September 2026, led by existing backer Portage with TEN13, Altered Capital, No Brand, Chris Cuffe's Partners Horizon Fund and Eucalyptus co-founder Charlie Gearside. The eight-year-old company now has more than 110,000 active customers and over $3.5 billion in holdings (86% in ETFs), and says the round took a year to close.

A signal that Australian fintech Series A capital is flowing but slowly (Pearler's round took ~12 months), and a live list of active local investors (Portage, TEN13, Altered Capital, Partners Horizon Fund) that fintech and consumer-app founders can target.
