BrainChild Bio raises $116M Series A for pediatric brain-cancer therapy

BrainChild Bio announced a $116 million Series A on September 8, 2026, backed by an undisclosed private family fund and foundation, Seattle Children's and WRF Capital. The capital funds a pivotal Phase 2 trial of lead candidate BCB-276 for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a childhood brainstem cancer.

Why this matters for founders

A large Series A anchored by a hospital system and mission-aligned family capital shows deep-tech and biotech founders that strategic and philanthropic backers can lead, not just follow, priced rounds.
