DGFT opens 'Source from India' export platform to DPIIT startups with Start-Up Badge

Via Trade Notice No. 16 dated 6 August 2026, DGFT expanded the 'Source from India' service on the Trade Connect ePlatform to DPIIT-recognised startups, letting them build dedicated buyer-discovery microsites and carry a unique Start-Up Badge for overseas buyers. Startups holding a valid Import Export Code (IEC) not on the Denied Entity List can onboard even without meeting standard export-performance criteria, subject to DGFT IEC database verification.

Why this matters for founders

A DPIIT-recognised founder with a valid IEC should log into the Trade Connect ePlatform and create a microsite to get the Start-Up Badge and surface their products to international buyers, even pre-revenue on exports.
