On 11 September 2026 Innovate UK opened Round 3 of the Battery Innovation Programme, offering a share of up to GBP 25 million across its Concept Development and Feasibility Studies strands. Individual collaborative projects can win grants of GBP 500,000 to GBP 4 million over 12 to 36 months, and applications close at 11am on 2 December 2026.

UK hardware, battery and cleantech founders should form a consortium led by a UK-registered business that includes at least one SME claiming funding, and submit before the 2 December 2026 deadline to access GBP 500k to GBP 4m in non-dilutive R&D grant.
