Innovate UK opened the National Materials Innovation Programme CR&D Round 1 on 1 September 2026, offering UK registered businesses a share of up to GBP 12 million for collaborative industrial research into advanced materials. Individual projects can request GBP 500,000 to GBP 1 million in grant, run 18 to 30 months, and must include at least one UK micro, small or medium sized enterprise claiming grant. The competition closes on 28 October 2026 at 11:00am UK time.
