MAS launches Future of Finance Institute to scale AI and tokenisation in finance

On 25-26 June 2026, the Monetary Authority of Singapore established the Future of Finance Institute (FFI) to move AI and tokenisation beyond pilots across Singapore's financial sector. FFI runs shared sandboxes for programmable money, tokenised assets and AI workflows, an 'innovation garage', a knowledge hub of validated use cases and deployment guides, plus toolkits for agentic AI and programmable compliance. Its board includes MAS, major financial institutions, technology firms and academia.

Why this matters for founders

Fintech founders can tap FFI's sandboxes, validated use-case library and agentic-AI/compliance toolkits to test tokenisation and AI products with institutional partners instead of building compliance infrastructure alone. Watch for the detailed strategy/governance drop later in 2026 to find concrete entry points and pilots.
