Effective July 4, 2026, the SBA doubled the cumulative borrowing limit for businesses using both loan programs from $5 million to $10 million. Qualified borrowers can now access up to $5 million through 7(a) and up to $5 million through 504, which the agency calls the largest financing opportunity in its history.
Capital-intensive founders (manufacturing, equipment, real estate) can stack 7(a) and 504 to raise up to $10M in SBA-backed debt before turning to dilutive equity.
