Singapore raises EFS Working Capital Loan risk-share to 70% from 1 Sep 2026

The Ministry of Finance announced on 29 July 2026 that the Enterprise Financing Scheme (EFS) SME Working Capital Loan and Project Loan will be enhanced from 1 September 2026 to 31 March 2027, with the government risk-share raised from the standard 50% to 70% for all enterprises. The maximum working capital loan quantum stays at S$500,000 per borrower, with a S$5 million borrower-group limit.

Why this matters for founders

A Singapore founder needing working capital can apply through an EFS participating financial institution during the 1 Sep 2026–31 Mar 2027 window, when the higher 70% government risk-share makes banks more willing to approve loans of up to S$500,000.
