From 1 July 2026, Victoria folded startup agency LaunchVic and the state's ~$2 billion Breakthrough Victoria investment fund into a single new body, Innovation Victoria, pitched as one 'front door' for founders, researchers and investors. Breakthrough Victoria had already made 100+ investment commitments, committed over $500 million and attracted about $1.5 billion in co-investment. Rod Bristow, former Breakthrough Victoria CEO, leads the merged agency.
Victoria merges LaunchVic and Breakthrough Victoria into Innovation Victoria
Victorian founders should now direct grant, accelerator and co-investment enquiries to Innovation Victoria as the single point of contact, and re-map any planned LaunchVic applications to the new agency's revised program lineup before applying.
