From 18 November 2025, identity verification at Companies House became a legal requirement, starting a 12-month transition period. All existing company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) must verify their identity by 18 November 2026, though most are triggered earlier at their next confirmation statement. If any director is unverified, the company cannot file its confirmation statement at all.
Companies House ID verification now law; directors must verify by Nov 2026
Verify your identity now through GOV.UK One Login to obtain your personal code, and collect codes from every director, so you can still file your next confirmation statement.
