From 1 April 2026, every business applying for voluntary GST registration in Singapore must be on the InvoiceNow (Peppol) e-invoicing network before IRAS will approve the registration, extending the rule that already hit companies registering within 6 months of incorporation from 1 November 2025. Applicants must adopt an IMDA-accredited InvoiceNow-Ready solution, obtain a Peppol ID linked to their UEN, and transmit invoice data to IRAS; applications that skip this can be rejected.
From 1 Apr 2026 all voluntary GST registrants must adopt InvoiceNow e-invoicing
A founder who plans to voluntarily register for GST (common for startups seeking input-tax credits) must first get onto an InvoiceNow-ready accounting platform like Xero and register a Peppol ID against their UEN before filing with IRAS, or the GST application will be turned down.
