NZ Active Investor Plus visa hits NZ$4.8b pipeline; managed funds dominate

As of 16 August 2026, New Zealand's revamped Active Investor Plus (AIP) investor visa had drawn 872 applications and 434 approvals, adding roughly NZ$4.8 billion to the investment pipeline or committed. Managed funds are the most popular vehicle, making up NZ$1.2 billion (80%) of committed Growth-category capital, and in August 2026 Immigration NZ eased managed-fund rules by dropping the 'non-revocable agreement' requirement.

Why this matters for founders

AIP capital flows largely through NZ managed funds and VC that back high-growth startups, so founders raising Series A/B should target AIP-linked growth funds and position their round to receive migrant investment.
