Singapore captured 78% of Southeast Asia's startup funding in 2025 (US$4.2B)

A DealStreetAsia-Kickstart Ventures report covered by e27 found Singapore took 78.1% of Southeast Asia's equity funding value in 2025, about US$4.2 billion, and 61.4% of the region's deal volume. Funding value jumped 147% in the second half of the year, dwarfing Vietnam (US$360M), Indonesia (US$340M) and Malaysia (US$260M).

Why this matters for founders

The capital concentration is a strong argument for incorporating or basing your holding company in Singapore, where the deepest regional investor pool and deal flow now sit; founders elsewhere in SEA should factor a Singapore entity into their fundraising strategy.
