SBA opens $10M Empower to Grow grants for hands-on manufacturing training

On Aug 5, 2026 the SBA opened its Manufacturing in America 'Empower to Grow' (E2G) initiative, awarding up to five grants totaling up to $10M to tribal colleges, community colleges, and trade schools on or near tribal lands to deliver in-person manufacturing training and reskilling. Beneficiaries are 8(a)- and HUBZone-eligible small businesses in critical industries. Applications close Aug 24, 2026 at 11:59 pm ET via Grants.gov.

Why this matters for founders

Manufacturing founders who are 8(a)- or HUBZone-eligible should map which nearby institutions plan to apply, since a funded provider can supply free hands-on training and rapid reskilling for your workforce.
