On 27 July 2026 the government announced that five major UK pension providers - Railpen, Nest, LPPI, LGPS Central and Border to Coast - are joining forces to explore a new UK Scale-up Fund of over £1 billion for high-growth British science and technology companies. The British Business Bank is supporting the launch and intends to co-invest, with a market process to appoint a fund manager beginning shortly.
